The Liturgical Music Courses offer a spendid opportunity to sing exciting and unusual repertoire in some of England's finest cathedrals. Rehearsal CDs and scores are provided well in advance.
The East of England Liturgical Music Course (4th - 10th August) will involve performances in the cathedrals of Norwich, St Edmundsbury & Ely. It will focus on the great Anglican repertoire of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, including the rarely performed "English Mass" by Herbert Howells and Parry's "Great" Evening Service in D.
The Malvern Liturgical Music Course (at the end of August) will take us to the cathedrals of Gloucester and Worcester, and to Great Malvern Priory. Repertoire will be varied, and we will finish with perfomances of several large-scale works by Giovanni Gabrieli in Gloucester Cathedral.
Optional components on both courses include psalm singing and voice development classes. The course fees (£235) include transport for excursions (Norwich, Ely, Bury St Edmunds on the East of England Course and Worcester and Great Malvern for the Malvern Course), one light meal a day, loan of all music and entrance to all course events.
Accommodation is available for £27/night (East of England) and £29/night (Malvern) at the rehearsal venues, bookable through The Liturgical Music Courses.
