Petrus Singers are pleased to present the first performance of Paul Ayres' new Oratorio, "The Christ" on November 17. (See Concert Diary).

"The Christ" retells the biblical narrative in a musical language of striking originality. The work is scored for mixed choir, youth choir, soloists, narrator, string quartet, trumpet, organ and percussion. It is designed for choirs of all abilities.

Paul Ayres is a young virtuoso organist, choral conductor, accompanist and composer. His compositional accomplishments have been acclaimed in the press and recognised by competition success. A new work by Paul Ayres is always worth waiting for, and there is considerable interest in the Nov 17 concert. Vocal scores and a recording will be available very soon after the concert.
