TAKE TWENTY Singers / Come to our wonderful Musical Weekend / 11-13 July 2008

WE'RE HOT ON THE HEELS of this summer's TAKE TWENTY Musical Weekend, which will be taking place at Urchfont Manor – from Friday eve 11 July to Sunday afternoon 13 July.
Located in the green countryside of Wiltshire, Urchfont Manor is a large house in fabulous grounds with comfortable ensuite rooms and a nice big space to rehearse in. All meals are provided and the food is excellent (they even publish their own cookbook).
The ambiance on these weekends is fantastic. It is truly upllifting to have so many voices singing our particular genre of music – close (jazz) harmonies in 4-8 parts – so please come and join us! We have had visitors from near and far (Canada!) for some years now who all keep coming back for more ... see the photos!
PROGRAMME: We begin on Friday evening with supper and a free evening to get settled in. Saturday is spent rehearsing new arrangements – punctuated by tea breaks, lunch and dinner, plus a free slot to relax, socialise, etc.
Saturday night is Cabaret time: where we have a lot of fun entertaining each other (all contributions welcome!)– and which in the past has featured all things vocal (poems, arias, madrigals, barbershop and close harmony singing) and instrumental. We encourage anyone who's keen to join in: it's a great opportunity to try new things out on an enthusiastic audience!
On Sunday morning we continue rehearsing and after lunch we put on an informal ‘mini-show’ for staff and visitors, featuring all the numbers we've been working on.
