Renaissance workshop for singers and conductors with Ghislaine Morgan, 15th October

Renaissance Music Workshop for singers and conductors

Sunday 15th October, 2-5pm, St Mary-le-Strand, London WC2R

To celebrate the start of The Renaissance Singers' 2006-7 season at its new London concert venue, The Temple Church, singer and vocal coach Ghislaine Morgan will be lead a workshop on Renaissance choral repertoire and singing techniques. The workshop will explore appropriate vocal techniques for good choral singing and in particular for Renaissance polyphony, with easy and fun exercises for singers and conductors alike.

Topics covered will include - how to achieve a relaxed, blended sound

- how to create a legato line

- how to improve diction

- how to ensure ease with challenging high and low notes

- how to develop good breath control and supported singing

- how to sing in tune


Concert: In Honour of Charles V

Sunday 15th October, 6pm, The Temple Church, London EC4

The Renaissance Singers with viol consort, directed by JanJoost van Elburg

After the workshop, there will be time to enjoy a glass of wine before the Renaissance Singers' concert later in the evening. This will the choir's first concert in the glorious acoustic of The Temple Church, off Fleet Street.

The cost of attending both the workshop and concert, (including a pre-concert drink), is £18 (the concert ticket on its own is £10). The cost of attending the workshop only is £12.50.
