Philharmonia Voices, the professional choir that works with the Philharmonia Orchestra on selected projects, seeks experienced (non-professional) tenors and basses to join the choir for two performances of Schoenberg's epic Gurrelieder in February 2009. The performances, in Birmingham's Symphony Hall (27 Feb) and London's Royal Festival Hall (28 Feb), will be conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen with an international line-up of soloists. Simon Halsey will be the principal chorus master, assisted by Aidan Oliver. The Festival Hall performance will be recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
