East European Choir at UCL - new autumn term

We are a friendly award-winning non-audition choir based at University College London with a passion for East European music, and we believe that everyone could and should sing! YIDDISH, RUSSIAN, BULGARIAN, MACEDONIAN, UKRAINIAN, GEORGIAN AND OTHER SONGS TAUGHT BY EAST EUROPEAN CHOIR LEADERS. Our leaders Eugenia Georgieva and Polina Shepherd run regular workshops, dedicated to developing specific vocal techniques and stylistic definition. The workshops are open to choir members and to the general public. We offer vocal and choral training, as well as pronunciation coaching. Teaching is by ear, which allows people who cannot read music to enjoy singing in a choir. It follows the great oral traditions of collective singing in Eastern Europe. Music lovers of all backgrounds and singing levels are welcome, and no previous singing experience or knowledge of languages is necessary. We have regular weekly meetings on Thursday evening 18.30-20.30 and perform one or two concerts per term. Cost: £6.50 per session for members, drop-in fee for non-regulars £8.50. Place: Room G03 in 26 Bedford Way WC1H 0AP (Institute of Education) near Euston/ Russell Square.
