Choir of St. Mary's, Battersea, LONDON is RECRUITING!

St Mary's is a beautiful Grade I listed, Georgian building in a spectacular location on the banks of the River Thames. William Blake was married here, J M W Turner painted here and Benedict Arnold is buried in the crypt. We have a wonderful musical tradition and enjoy supporting the arts.

The Choir of St. Mary's is a voluntary choir of approximately 20 members but we are always looking for more to join ALL PARTS - but particularly TENORS and BASSES!

The choir sing every Sunday morning in a full choral Parish Eucharist, and two choral evensongs (BCP) every month. All major feast days are celebrated with choral services using a diverse range of music from the Renaissance to the present day.

Recent performances include Palestrina's 'Missa Brevis', Duruflé and Fauré's Requiems as well as singing evensong at Southwark Cathedral and Exeter College, Oxford. The choir also sang on BBC Radio London as part of the Royal Wedding celebrations in 2011. Upcoming events include a 'come and sing' Messiah in December and a full performance of Stainer's Crucifixion in early 2013.

With a very musical tradition, there are many concerts and recitals throughout the year and the church has a very fine 2 manual organ and a new, beautiful Kawai grand piano.
