Palestrina come & sing workshop - Clifton Cathedral, Bristol 29th November 2014

In this insightful and enjoyable workshop, Tom Williams (choral director at St Martin-in-the-Fields) and members of his early music group, The Erebus Ensemble (Artists-in-Residence at Bristol Old Vic and recent prize winners at the London International A Cappella Choir Competition) explores the life and music of Pierluigi da Palestrina.
Focusing on Palestrina and his wonderful masterpiece Missa Papae Marcelli, the work now considered to be the saviour of church music following the strict rulings of the Council of Trent.
The workshop takes place at Clifton Cathedral, Bristol between 1pm and 5pm (with a break for refreshments) and will be followed by a candlelit evening concert at 7.30pm, which will feature repertoire studied during the day, performed by the workshop choir, and reflections on the music by Williams and members of The Erebus Ensemble.
Saturday 29 November
