Victoria come & sing workshop - Clifton Cathedral, Bristol 31st January 2015

In this insightful and enjoyable workshop, Tom Williams (choral director at St Martin-in-the-Fields) and members of his early music group, The Erebus Ensemble (Artists-in-Residence at Bristol Old Vic and recent prize winners at the London International A Cappella Choir Competition) explores the life and music of Tomas Luis de Victoria.
Looking at arguably the finest of all 16th century composers, Victoria. Throughout his life, the Spanish composer wrote exclusively for the Church and left a large and impressive output spanning masses, magnificat settings and a collection of Responses for the ancient service of Tenebrae.
The workshop takes place at Clifton Cathedral, Bristol between 1pm and 5pm (with a break for refreshments) and will be followed by a candlelit evening concert at 7.30pm, which will feature repertoire studied during the day, performed by the workshop choir, and reflections on the music by Williams and members of The Erebus Ensemble.
Saturday 29 November
£18 to include scores and refreshments
