Applications for the second London International A Cappella Choir Competition, in conjunction with St Johnís Smith Square and The Tallis Scholars, are now invited.
London International A Cappella Choir Competition
We are looking for 16 choirs to take part in 2015ís Competition, with heats from Tuesday 22 Ė Friday 25 September 2015 and the Grand Final on Saturday 26 September 2015.
Alongside this all groups will be invited to take part in lunchtime concerts around London and in workshops to enhance their performance technique.
Applicants will be asked to send in a recording 20 minutes in length of unaccompanied performance of contrasting styles.
For the heats each group will be asked to prepare a 20 minute programme of Renaissance (1450-1625) polyphony; a piece by Gabriel Jackson; a piece of the groupís own choice.
For the final each group will be asked to prepare a 20 minute programme of English Renaissance (1450-1625) polyphony; a different piece by Gabriel Jackson; a piece of the groupís own choice.
Fee to enter: £400 per choir (If 75% of the choir is aged 25 or under on 26 September 2015 then the fee is reduced to £100)
Deadline for entries: Friday 15 May 2015
Prize money is awarded for 1st place, 2nd place, and the audience prize.
