Autumn Adventures Singing Holiday in the Scottish Borders
WHITCHESTER CHRISTIAN GUEST HOUSE, HAWICK, TD9 7LN
For our third singing holiday, we are delighted to invite experienced singers to join us at Whitchester Christian Guest House and Centre, which is a non-denominational 19th Century house in a peaceful setting of three acres of grounds and woodland on the Scottish Borders near the town of Hawick. Whitchester grow as much of their own fruit and vegetables on site as they can in their walled garden, which means seasonal produce features regularly in their meals! The house is just off the A7 and served by an Edinburgh and Carlisle Rail Link Bus which regularly goes to stops nearby. Local bus routes connect the historic Borders towns making the untamed countryside of the Scottish Borders on the doorstep to explore.
In this tranquil and atmospheric setting, Tim Knight will work on developing small group singing and confidence and will use music from all parts of Europe! Tim Knight is a keen ambassador for choral music and tradition and has been running singing events, workshops and tours for over 15 years and has built up a reputation for providing singers with a rewarding, educational and memorable experience singing fine music in fine venues throughout the UK, America. This had led to consistent repeat bookings and excellent reviews from participants of his events (see below).

I also attended the Whalley Abbey singing weekend, which combined a lovely setting, convivial group of people and interesting and fun singing sessions, exploring different arrangements of the music and voices, and the effect of the acoustics on the sound we made. No-one really wanted the singing sessions to end...... Finished up with a 'sing-on-your-feet' mass in the local church. Loved it! Guest at Whalley Abbey Singing Retreat Weekend, December 2018
As one of the participants at the first TKM singing weekend, I can genuinely recommend it to any singers with a reasonable level of experience. The location was comfortable and atmospheric, the music was challenging but fun and I felt a real sense of achievement at the end. We were introduced to new music for most of us, together with its history, and had the opportunity to sing with a like-minded group with the guidance of Tim Knight who has a real ability to get the best out of singers, even those of us who lacked confidence. I look forward to the next TKM event. Guest at Whalley Abbey Singing Retreat Weekend, December 2018
