Chamber choir vacancies - Sheffield

Following a re-auditioning process, there are vacancies in the Sterndale Singers for two sopranos, a tenor and a bass. Sterndale Singers is a mixed voice chamber choir of around thirty singers, aiming for an excellent standard of music-making. We rehearse on Monday evenings (7:45pm) at St Mark's church, Broomhill, Sheffield. Our conductor is Robert Webb, who has thirty years' experience directing choirs and whose energetic and positive approach ensures that rehearsals are enjoyable as well as purposeful. Our vocal coach is David Watkin-Holmes: every singer in Sterndale benefits from regular one-to-one coaching sessions. The choir's repertoire ranges from unaccompanied renaissance polyphony to contemporary works, and from time to time we work with local instrumental ensembles. If you have good sight-reading, reliable intonation and the ability to hold a part on your own, do consider trying us out. Prospective new members normally attend two rehearsals before their audition. Contact Angela Rees on 0114 258 7818 or at rees@garees.eclipse.co.uk
