SINGERS WANTED! St. Mary's, Stoke D'Abernon, Surrey

St. Mary's, Stoke D'Abernon is a beautiful and ancient church, noted for containing some of the oldest memorial brasses in the country, including a life size depiction of Sir John D'Abernon. It is within easy travelling distance from central London (Cobham and Stoke D'Abernon station is just over half an hour from Waterloo).

It is a traditional parish (Common worship traditional words sung Eucharist on the first Sunday of the month, Matins on the 2nd and 4th, and family serivce on the 3rd). The choir leads the worship, aided by the fine Frobenius organ. The repertoire is also traditional. The voluntary choir is looking to expand in all voices. Sight reading ability and enthusiasm will be appreciated!

The church is also looking to appoint a paid alto choral scholar to join the four exisiting scholars in augmenting the voluntary choir on the first Sunday of the month. The scholars sing occassional Book of Common Prayer choral evensongs and perform two concerts each year. Sight reading ability is essential for the choral scholars.

Services: Sunday 11am with a rehearsal before.
Voluntary choir weekly rehearsal: Thursday 8pm.
