 NEW MEMBERS WELCOME IN ALL SECTIONS!
THE JOHN RUSKIN CHORAL SOCIETY is looking for new members. We currently have vacancies in all sections of the choir. There is no voice test or audition to join the choir.
We sing a wide variety of music from standard classical repertoire, to contemporary music and for our summer concerts something of a light hearted nature such as Gilbert & Sullivan, songs from the show or popular classics!
Three concerts a year one concert with full orchestra, one concert with organ and one with piano and percussion.
Rehearsals are once a week during school term times on a Wednesday from 7.45pm to 9.45pm with a break for tea, coffee and a weekly raffle. We currently rehearse at Shirley Methodist Church, Eldon Avenue, Shirley. Membership fees are £15.00 a term and includes hire of scores.

Christmas Concert: Main work - Karl Jenkins: The Armed Man, A Mass for Peace, Christmas Carols with Orchestra
Spring Concert: Elgar Birthday Concert: Elgar: Give unto the Lord (Psalm 29), The Music Makers, Wesley: Blessed be the God and Father, Thou wilt Keep him in Perfect Peace
Summer Concert: Sammy Fain: Calamity Jane Concert performance presented in a new orchestration (in arrangement with Faber Music).
