Beginner seeks advice in Peterborough area

Please help. I live in Peterborough, Cambs, and would like to join a local singing group. The problem is that I have no experience, although I did sing Baritone in a Barbershop a few years ago which was great fun. I also have some musical knowledge, having played trumpet many moons ago. I am looking to join a singing group that welcomes absolute beginners perhaps singing more modern pieces - Jazz/harmony/Shows, rather than all classical. I would be grateful for any advice on how best to get into singing, or point to a group in the Peterborough area that you would recommend. Many thanks. Peter.
