I FAGIOLINI in Oxford 9th November 2006

This award-winning vocal ensemble is famed for its uniquely imaginative approach and theatrical spirit. I Fagiolini's performances are 'irresistibly polished' with a 'quirkiness and flamboyance' that achieves 'sheer magnetism and energy.' (The Guardian, The Oxford Times)

In this special 20th anniversary concert, they sing a programme of two parts. Early music, including the grandest of Byrd's motets and a masterpiece by Monteverdi, opens the evening. This is followed by 20th Century music: Berio's characterful and comic collection of street cries, matched with Adrian Williams' virtuosic cabaret. Their recent performance of this programme in London was given high praise and four star reviews.
