St.Cecilia Singers - Vacancy

The St.Cecilia Singers of Rushden, a friendly and enthusiastic 45 strong East Northamptonshire based mixed voice choir, wish to appoint a suitably qualified and energetic Musical Director to continue its development from September 2007
The Singers are experienced in singing a wide range of music from large choral works to lighter music, both old and new, and usually perform an average of four concerts a year, at least one of which has an orchestral accompaniment.
The successful candidate will be expected to rehearse the Choir at its regular Tuesday night rehearsal from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, plus an afternoon dress rehearsal on concert days. They will also be expected to attend committee meetings to set the musical programmes and contribute to plans for the Choir’s future. It is also an essential requirement that the applicant is able to correspond with the committee via Email.
The new Musical Director, should ideally have a wide experience in choral training and repertoire, with some orchestral knowledge, and will be expected to develop interesting and challenging concert programmes in agreement with the committee and to prepare the choir to perform at concerts to a high standard.
