The Warlock Singers, the chamber choir specialising in British music, is seeking to increase its membership slightly to perform larger-scale works. Plans include a performance of Elgar’s Te Deum and Benedictus in October 2007 and to record the complete choral works of Peter Warlock (the choir’s namesake), some with orchestra. The Warlock Singers, founded and directed by Graham Dinnage, has rapidly achieved high acclaim for its performances of British music, resulting in engagements to perform for the Ralph Vaughan Williams Society, The Peter Warlock Society and at Finchcocks Museum of Music, the latter a sell-out recital in June 2007. The choir has also commissioned a major new work for choir, soloists, harp, trumpet and organ by Matthew King, and gave its first performance in December 2006. For details of past concerts and reviews please see the choir’s website www.warlock-singers.org. The choir rehearses a few weeks before each concert on different days of the week, and seeks to accommodate its members’ other commitments. Concerts are normally held at St Mary’s Church, Westerham and the same programme at a second venue, approximately three times per year. The programmes often have solo opportunities for choir members. Experienced singers are invited to audition for the new season, starting in September 2007. Please contact Graham Dinnage on 01732 866372 or by email, graham@froghole.com
