Bob Chilcott was a chorister and choral scholar at King’s College, Cambridge, and then for 12 years a member of The King’s Singers. Since 1997 he has worked as a full-time composer. As well as being Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC Singers he has conducted many other leading choirs including the World Youth Choir. He has worked in 23 countries on 6 continents and has had over 100 pieces of music published by the Oxford University Press.
In the workshop Bob will be working on his composition Songs and Cries of London Town and on a number of his carols. It would be fair to say that Bob is one of the top practitioners in choral music in this country. We are very lucky to have him working with us and we would be delighted if as many people as possible from other Kent Choirs could join us for what should be an extremely enjoyable and educational day.
