Director of Music for Ealing Choral Society Can't Post

Ealing Choral Society seeks an energetic new Director of Music to join us in September 2008 to succeed James Gaddarn, who will step down after 40 highly successful years with the Choir.

Ealing Choral Society is one of the leading amateur choirs in west London and works with professional orchestras and soloists promoting 3 major concerts a year in Ealing and central London, in addition to a Christmas concert for a national charity. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings in central Ealing, and all 80+ members have been auditioned.

The new Director of Music should be ambitious to enhance the choir’s reputation and profile, working with the Society to ensure quality of performance and breadth of repertoire while maintaining its good sense of community and enjoyment of music-making.

Short listed applicants will be asked to rehearse the choir as part of the selection process. The successful candidate should be willing to commit to at least two years with the choir.

For more detailed information please contact the Hon Secretary at sue.clark4905@btinternet.com. The closing date for applications is 18 November 2007 and interviews will be held early in January 2008.
