The Maesbury Singers are seeking an enthusiastic Choral Conductor.
Applications are sought before the end of October 2007.
 We are a small, friendly and ambitious mixed choir and perform a wide range of repertoire ranging from a capella pieces to works accompanied by or with accompaniment ranging from organ, or piano, to chamber orchestra or even samba band. We enjoy a challenge and have given world premieres of exciting new and unusual pieces over the past few years.
The choir was formed in 1988 and now consists of 16 singers. We currently rehearse weekly on a Monday at Stratton-on-the-Fosse, Somerset between 19.30 and 21.30 and give regular performances in the local area close to Wells. We also sing at occasional weddings.
Rehearsals could be on Tuesday evenings. There is some flexibility over rehearsal days and dates.
 We are seeking a conductor who will further develop our technical abilities, build and expand our musical repertoire and hopefully also become a part of our social group. The conductor needs to be a proficient pianist.
The choir is a registered charity and pays professional fees for rehearsals and concerts.
