Whitehaven Male Voice Choir on MySpace Can't Post

Last year following the creation of our choir's own website, I created a MySpace music profile for our choir. This has been a great success in raising our profile, advertising future concerts, showcasing our music, work we do and photos. Also allowing us to make friends with other choirs, including a possible future trip to Stevenage as guests of Stevenage Ladies Choir, and in finding guest soloists/choirs for our 'Annual Concert'. Through MySpace I discovered Jo Appleby who we've booked for our 2008 'Annual Concert.' I'm suprised there aren't more British choirs on myspace. Maybe choirs aren't aware of its potential or don't know how to go about creating a profile. Hence the reason for adding this post to the forum. The initial creation of the profile is easy, can be edited at any time and is also FREE. This may sound like a sales pitch, and NO i'm not employed by myspace. I just think it's a great way to publicise your choir and to complement your official website. Have a look at our profile and get creating..............

Re: [graeme] Whitehaven Male Voice Choir on MySpace [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi graeme,

I did the same for our choir (as part of the Making Music initiative) and also created a site using the BT Community (Recipero) Website builder. Still waiting to reap the rewards though!

These can be found at http://www.myspace.com/rawstornesingers/ and http://www.rawstornesingers.btik.com/.

Hi - I'm very interested in creating a site on MySpace for our choir especially after seeing yours - it's very professional looking. How long did it take you to create something to that standard? I'm quite an experienced IT user but have never ventured onto these type of sites but can see we're missing a great opportunity.

thanks
