Calling London Altos & Basses Can't Post

The Orlando Chamber Choir is currently recruiting for altos and basses. We're a small friendly group looking for fun and committed singers. We "specialise" in music from the baroque and classical periods though we range all over history and don't shy away from contemporary music under the guidance of our conductor James Weeks.

We give 3 concerts a year and operate on an academic year basis - the emphasis is on getting under skin of the music rather than knocking concerts off as quickly as possible. James is a fantastic conductor and choral coach (as anyone who does summer schools at Dartington may know) and always comes up with fascinating programmes.

For summer we're planning a programme of "spanish" baroque Janequin, Victoria & Cererols and the autumn term is all about Bach - a lutheran mass and cantata. From time to time we like to push the boat out and perform larger works with soloists and orchestra, soloists in smaller concerts sometimes come from the choir.

If you're looking for a choir that is as much about fun as it is about music (and does both to high standard!) then drop us an e-mail to find out more. Yes - there is an audition but nothing too scary! You can find out more on our website www.orlandochoir.org.uk.
