are clearly contemporary without ever straying
too far from their tonal base.

This announcement features the choral music of two of our newest and most
exciting composers:

Charles Hammell
===============
Charles Hammell creates music relevant to our times and of great beauty. Very
much at home in the post-modern era of classical music, Charles draws upon a
wide range of influences. A graduate of The University of the Arts in
Philadelphia, he has forged a fresh, new musical language assimilating the
influences of American church music, world music, rock, American minimalism, and
even Renaissance music.

Eric T. Houghton
================
Eric T. Houghton has received awards for his large-scale musical documentary
“Pioneer Songs.” The work, detailing the first wagon trains to California, was
premiered in 1993. He was awarded the Meet the Composer prize for this work, and
was subsequently elected to ASCAP. Houghton’s “Victory Songs” premiered in 1995
to much acclaim. The work, composed to honor our World War II veterans,
commemorated the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II. Recently Mr.
Houghton completed his third historical song cycle, “Passion Songs”, depicting
the passion and death of Jesus Christ.

================================================================================

When the "Ship to me" price is listed as $1.80, this is a 'per octavo' price and
you should order as many as you need for you choir. For all choral pieces, the
"Print it now" version provides you with a print license for your choir, so you
may photocopy as many parts as are required for your own group's needs at no
extra cost.

Ed Hirschman
