Morley College Choir Open Evening 17th September! Can't Post

Morley College Choir is holding an open evening for new singers to try out the choir on Wed 17th September 2008 7pm-930pm Holst Room Morley College 61 Westminster Bridge Road. Nearest Tube: Lambeth North/Waterloo. INFO: jeremy@jhaneman.com

Morley College Choir has been in existence for around 100 years and was founded by Gustav Holst and led for many years by composer/conductor Michael Tippett. The choir has made numerous prestigious world premieres, including making the first ever recording of Tallis’ forty–part motet Spem in Alium and we also gave the world premiere of Tippett’s A Child of Our Time. Conductor: Jeremy Haneman

We are a very friendly group and we welcome new members. You don’t need to audition to join us, but you do need to be able to sing in tune and have some experience of choral singing, as well as a commitment to making beautiful music! We usually give two or three concerts a year with guest soloists and orchestras. This year’s repertoire is an all-English programme featuring Vaughan Williams. We meet on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9.30 pm in central London at Morley College.
