Put on a choral event to save England's historic churches! Can't Post

To celebrate its 40th birthday this year, the Churches Conservation Trust will fill its historic churches with song, throwing open their doors to choirs across the country on 3 and 4 October 2009. The Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) is the national charity conserving England’s most beautiful and historic churches that are no longer needed for regular worship. It promotes public enjoyment of these churches, and encourages their use as an educational and community resource.

As part of its birthday celebrations the CCT is inviting vocal groups to take over one of its churches and hold a public event, preferably a workshop or scratch-choir day but it could also be a concert or evensong. There will be a national media campaign to encourage the public to take part in the events.

A selection of the CCT's 340 churches are taking part in the event. There are still churches available around England, particularly in Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridge.

Could your choir sing to save our historic churches?
