Capriol, a chamber choir based in West Kent, which has received high acclaim for its performances of British music, is reforming in September after a year's break. Previous engagements include recitals for the Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Peter Warlock Societies. The choir was described by the reviewer for the PWS as "that indefinable blend of English lyricism and Medieval purity" Our concert on Saturday Oct 16th 2010 is entitled 'Great Women in Music" and features music by female composers from Hildegard of Bingen to the present day, and music about great women - St Cecilia, the Virgin Mary etc. There will be solo opportunities. Our Christmas concert on Friday 10th December includes new music specially written for choir and brass quintet, featuring Mardi Brass. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 7.45-10.00 in Crockham Hill, near Westerham, from 8th September. We would be pleased to hear from experienced singers.
