COME TO NEW YORK CITY TO PERFORM MASS IN BLUE

Join California’s Symphony Silicon Valley Chorale, and Conductor Elena Sharkova, on an exciting musical adventure. On April 18, 2011, SSV Chorale will be performing in New York City on the stage of Avery Fisher Hall at the famed Lincoln Center. To the audiences of the Big Apple we are bringing the fabulous and jazzy Mass in Blue by the English composer Will Todd. This will be the New York and Lincoln Center premier of this brilliant, melodious, and energetic major work.

SSV Chorale performed Mass in Blue in March 2010 to great acclaim. This NYC concert is an experience that deserves to be shared, and so we are reaching out to individuals who have performed this fantastic piece in the past or are planning on singing it this season. We are offering you the opportunity to sing this wonderful piece again, in New York City.

Our New York residency and concert arrangements are produced by DCINY (http://www.dciny.org/2011-season/). Cost of participation is $640 US, which includes two 4-hour rehearsals (Saturday and Sunday, April 16-17), a dress rehearsal with the band on Monday, and the concert on Monday evening at Lincoln Center, followed by a VIP gala reception. Special ticket prices are available for those singers with friends/family who would like to attend the concert.

If singers are in need of the score, by special agreement with Will Todd’s publisher, they can download the choral score for a minimal fee. Practice midi files for each voice part will be provided for assistance in reviewing this beautiful work.

If you would like more information regarding this extraordinary concert opportunity, please contact Lisa Hettler-Smith as soon as possible at choraleoutreach@symphonysiliconvalley.org, and we will send you all the details.
