Saturday 26 November 2011 Colston Hall, Bristol, 2-4pm Come & Sing Messiah with Bristol Choral Society and Adrian Partington An opportunity to 'Come & Sing' a selection of choruses from Handel's Messiah with Adrian Partington and members of Bristol Choral Society. There may not be a full Bristol Choral Society performance of Messiah this Christmas, but we couldn't let a whole year go by without giving people the chance to experience the very special BCS Messiah which is renowned for the vitality, articulation and emotional impact of the singing, and of course the fact that we usually perform the whole work from memory! Why not take this unique opportunity to sing Messiah with choir? (you will be pleased to hear we won't require come & singers to sing from memory!). All are welcome - whether you know it all from memory, are dusting off that score lurking in the cupboard or want to try singing these famous choruses for the first time. The ability to read music would be beneficial, but all that is required is a voice and some enthusiasm! Please bring your own Messiah score if you have one, but music will be available to hire if required for a small additional charge. After the Come & Sing, why not stay to hear the choir perform our family-friendly 'Mini Messiah' (from memory) at 4:30pm? This magical shortened version of Messiah (with professional orchestra and soloists) is a perfect family-friendly introduction to this masterpiece, but will also be the only BCS performance of Messiah this year. It debuted last year and hundreds of families enjoyed this wonderful musical experience. Free audience admission to Mini Messiah is included with a Come & Sing ticket. Come 7 Sing tickets: Adults £7 (or £9 including score hire) - includes free adult admission to 4:30pm Mini Messiah performance. Accompanied children under 18 FREE from Colston Hall: 0117 922 3686 or online at http://www.colstonhall.org/whatson/Event2589 Part of a Bristol Choral Christmas: visit http://www.bristolchoral.co.uk or download the attached flyers for more information
