Do you struggle in your choir because you cannot sing at sight? - Hitchin, Hertfordshire Can't Post

SIGHT SINGING WITH BARBARA ALDEN

MONDAY 23 - WEDNESDAY 25 JANUARY 2012

Do you struggle in your choir because you cannot sing at sight? Does written music seem like a foreign language and inhibit you from auditioning for a choir? Beginning at the beginning, you’ll be provided with simple tools to help dispel the mystique (or possibly phobia!) of reading music. You’ll be set on the road to fuller participation in choral singing. Barbara Alden will gently introduce you to the
concept of rhythmic notation and, using hand signs, to tonic sol-fa. Some basic theory will be included with the practical work, and Barbara will also give you hints for further practice. A small additional charge of £8 - £10 for exercise sheets and a sight singing book is payable directly to Barbara at the course. http://www.benslowmusic.org/index.asp?PageID=172

Resident £225 / Non resident £175
