Music wanted Can't Post

As a newcomer to the world of choral directing, I wondered if there is a market in the hire or sale of pre-owned choral sets? Music libraries have mainly the standard repertoire, but I am looking for music suitable for beginner community choirs. With a c.50 singers the cost of music is quite a restraint on us, so I am looking to the secondhand market - if such a thing exists.

Does anyone have thoughts on this?

Cheers!

Re: [southrepps] Music wanted [In reply to] Can't Post

Hello,

we are a choir of around 45-50 which started from scratch about 15 years ago. We have built up quite a big library of music, some of which (from the early days) is quite easy. We are currently working on cataloguing this in order to hire some of it out (and maybe to sell some of it). If you wish I could send you a list of what we have)

Also - are you familiar with the Voiceworks books. They are quite expensive but contain many easy songs which come with permission to photocopy, which is obviously much cheaper than buying.

best wishes

HM

Hi HM

Thanks for reply. I would love to see your repertoire list when available and we would be in the market to rent or to buy some. Yes I have some of the Voiceworks books and they are very useful.

All the best

Stephen

Hi Stephen,

How can I contact you directly? If you have an email address I could email a list to you.

If you dont wish to put your email address on here you could contact me via the contact form on our choir website:

Hi! If your choir is a member of Making Music you could try their Music Bank service if you'd prefer to borrow music rather than purchase it. I think they offer reasonable rates!
