Conductor needed Can't Post

The Belmont Male Singers are looking for someone to lead the group through their wide- ranging repertoire. The group (of about 40) has been going since the 1960’s, has an average age of 60+ and is known for its light interpretations of popular songs, oldies, show songs, standards, and classics. Our distinctive sound stems from in-group arrangements, mostly in three parts, and is supported by a skilled accompanist.
The group is entirely self supporting and is sought out for weddings and charity events as well as taking the time to entertain in the community, working with school choirs, clubs and retirement complexes.
The post would appeal to a talented & enthusiastic musician that could introduce new musical ideas whilst maintaining the style of the choir.
He/She would be expected to:
• Conduct rehearsals at St John's Church, in Odo Street, Swansea on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, together with performances throughout the year.
• Select repertoire for performances and liaise with the committee regarding musical development and progress.
To register an interest in the position call chairman Peter Evans on 01792 874918.
