APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN To mark the 2012 London Olympics, Loughborough University offers both established composers and emerging new talent the opportunity to create a new choral work for the University Choir to perform with piano accompaniment during a concert in May 2012, and at other events held at Loughborough as part of the Olympic celebrations. The winning composition, of between 20 and 30 minutes duration, will be an uplifting celebratory piece for SATB chorus, in the tradition of great classical or pop anthems, with piano accompaniment (or orchestral/band arrangement with piano reduction). Words should be in the public domain (i.e. not subject to copyright restrictions) or created as part of the composition, and celebrate Loughboroughâs sporting tradition and success, along with the spirit of endeavour, fun and friendship that characterises the Loughborough student experience. Please download the application form from www.arts.lboro.ac.uk or attached and return applications to radar.info@lboro.ac.uk Deadline for entries: Tue 31 August 2011 Judging will take place during September and October 2011 by a panel of judges selected by the University, and winners notified in November 2011.
