If you are going to be in the Edinburgh area on the 23rd or 24th August why not attend one of Inspiration Choir's concerts in aid of Help the Heroes?
Are you going to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival?
260 members of Inspiration choir perform their programme “Here’s to the Heroes” as part of Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2012.
As part of a 5-day tour arranged through Rayburn Tours, Inspiration will give two performances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Find out more and book your tickets here: http://bit.ly/O6zjU7
Gary Griffiths, the current music director of Inspiration, created the first Inspiration choir in Newcastle. He used only the social networking site Facebook to organise a series of musical workshops: imagine his surprise when 350 people turned up at the first rehearsal!
Thanks to its unusual origins, the choir grew so rapidly that Gary decided to found a second choir in Leeds. Both choirs now perform with professional orchestras in the principal concert halls of their home cities - the Victoria Hall at Leeds Town Hall and The Sage Gateshead near Newcastle. However, Inspiration has not lost sight of its original aim to inspire amateur singers from all walks of life to give joyful and uplifting performances together.
In recognition of Help for Heroes and encapsulating all that is best about the Olympic Spirit, this August the massed voices of Inspiration will present an epic concert for the winner inside all of us!
Olympic themes and patriotic blockbusters, along with stirring anthems and heroic visions set the scene for a stunning evening of entertainment. The “Here’s to the Heroes” programme includes the moving ‘Wherever You Are’ made famous by the Military Wives’ Choir, and John Williams’ ‘Hymn to the Fallen’. Couple these with ‘You Raise Me Up’, ‘Jerusalem’, ‘Dare to Dream’ and many more…prepare to be entertained.
