Come & Sing Mendelssohn's St Paul with Bristol Choral Society and Adrian Partington Sat 16 Feb Can't Post

Bristol Choral Society has announced its 2012-13 season, including the popular annual Come & Sing day under the inspirational baton of conductor Adrian Partington:

Come & Sing Mendelssohn St Paul
Saturday 16 February 2013, 10am - 4pm

Tyndale Baptist Church, Bristol

Come and spend the day exploring Mendelssohn’s St Paul under the inspirational baton of Adrian Partington.

Adrian writes of Mendelssohn's St Paul:

'St Paul was written when Mendelssohn was at the height of his creative powers in 1835.
Many musicians still consider that it is a finer work than the much later Elijah (1846). From the stoning of Stephen, to the events on the road to Damascus, from Paul’s enlightenment to his spreading of the Gospel, Mendelssohn produces music of brilliance, of violence, of tenderness, and of calm.
Everything in the work is wonderful to sing, from the chorales to the vivid choruses.

St Paul is a masterpiece, unknown to too many people. Come along to Tyndale Baptist Church on 16th February to learn it and enjoy it - we will be singing the work in English, and the day will conclude with an informal performance with vocal soloists.'

Tickets: £15 (under 18s £7.50) including score hire, hot drinks and cake!
