new Yiddish choir in London Can't Post

A NEW YIDDISH CHOIR is opening in London on Tuesday 11 September near Tufnell Park Station on the Northern Line. Polina Shepherd will be teaching every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month (but the group may decide to meet more often):

2, 9, 23 October
13, 27 November
11 December

Please contact Robin Rubenstein robthebobbin@yahoo.co.uk

We will start with singing simpler folk songs in 1-4 parts with and without sheet music and nigunim.

Choir leader:

Composer, singer, pianist and the foremost Jewish choir leader of the Former USSR. Her grandfather, a veteran of the second war played bayan (button accordion) and her mother, a professional singer would often sing for hours while Polina listened as a child, learning deeply rooted Jewish and Russian traditions throughout her childhood years. Her training at Kazan State Music college and then Conservatory gave her an academic perspective. Polina is a highly experienced international workshop leader and Natural Voice practitioner in the UK. She teaches Yiddish songs and Hassidic Nigunim - the age old Jewish songs without words - to her own choirs and gives workshops internationally.
