TENORS Required - St Sophia's Greek Orthodox Cathedral Choir, London, Bayswater Can't Post

St Sophia's Greek Orthodox Cathedral Choir in Bayswater/Queensway (London) urgently needs TENORS for its regular services on Sunday morning at 10am for which there is a pay of £15. There are also occasional ceremonies (weddings, baptisms, funerals) that pay a little bit more. The choir is in a unique position of being the longest established and indeed the only Greek Orthodox polyphonic mixed male & female choir in Western Europe and it's one of the friendliest choirs out there. SmileThe average age of choristers is 20-40.

WE WELCOME AMATEUR AND PROFESSIONAL SINGERS, a reasonable sight-reading is necessary, informal audition. Singing is in Greek but you DON'T have to speak or understand Greek as English transcriptions are available.

We are curretly rehearsing for two public concerts in October and November, one of them being held at St James's church in Piccadilly for which the choir has had a special piece written.

Please note - we are not looking for singers for a dep list but for those who are able to commit to most Sundays and become members. The regular members do get called in to sing at occasional ceremonies as well but only from the pool of regular Sunday singers. The choir is a mix of amateur, semi-professional and professional singers, very friendly, relaxed and people are lovely! It is a true small community and everyone is friends with each other and the most of us do it because we love the atmosphere in the choir so please get in touch if you're interested in becoming a part of us.

Please email for more info and ask any questions you may have:
beatrice-t@hotmail.com.

We look forward to hearing from you! Smile
