Opportunity for an Assistant Music Director/ Pianist for a small Opera Company in the Guildford area. The company (set-up in 2011) benefits from the artistic input of an experienced Musical Director but due to our growing list of commitments and activities seeks a flexible individual to join our musical management line-up, with the time and energy to get involved in developing our operatic performances.
We are set-up as a not-for-profit organisation and will occasionally be raising money for good causes. The company is totally independent and raise our own funds, consequently this post is unpaid.
The position would ideally suit someone just starting out looking for a first post, but with a thorough grounding in core opera rep and a good understanding of working with small groups of singers. Ideally, you will be able to take some of the rehearsals which will involve some piano accompaniment from time to time.
This is an extremely dynamic company with a talented group of singers, and a truly inspiring MD, so this is a good opportunity for someone to get involved in an exciting small company.
