Dates

16th – 23rd July 2013

Staff and timetable

Paul Keohone and Wilma MacDougall are the singing teachers with Geoffrey Tanti as accompanist. You would receive a singing lesson every day and take part in workshops in the afternoons, and if you like, be able to sing in the open Masterclasses every other day. We also have a choral singing day in which we invite locals to participate. Lunch will be provided each day at La Chaumiere and is included in the course fees. The lunches are superb. Nick, our host uses local produce and a a superb chef to make lunch a very special time of day. We eat on the balcony at La Chaumiere with the most magnificent Alpine Views

Accommodation

La Chaumiere is 5 minutes walk to the city centre and is one of Châtels oldest hotels. With spectacular views, La Chaumiere is also the venue for the course work. La Chaumiere accommodation is currently sold out.

Accommodation is also available at the stunning Chalet des Arbres in the centre of Châtel and within easy walking distance to La Chaumiere (10 mins). Check it out at the bottom of the page

Free Time

Our morning off is Sunday morning, when our participants will be able to visit the market at La Chapelle D'Abondance. On Friday evening we have a group evening out at a restaurant so high up the mountain it has no electricity. Here you can sample traditional Savoyarde cuisine at it best, cooked in wood fired ovens. Dinner is by candlelight and you can watch the sun set and then gaze at the myriad of stars above. (transport to all excursions is provided free of charge). We also have one afternoon off, the itinerary of which will be decided by our participants. There is so much to do here: hiking, swimming, cycling, paraponting (be adventurous) and white water rafting.

Weather

The village of Chätel is 3000 feet above sea level and has the most magnificent views of the Alps. The weather is usually around the mid 20's with a cool mountain breeze.

There are currently only 5 places left on the course
