Choir of the Year, the UK's national choral competition, is inviting singers and choir leaders to sign up for exciting workshops and seminars taking place alongside Auditions at Warwick Arts Centre on Saturday 10 May.

This is a fantastic opportunity to explore in detail areas of singing that are of interest to you with our adjudicators who number among the greatest authorities on ensemble singing in the country. Singer and vocal coach Joanna Forbes L’Estrange will lead her ever-popular workshop - with accompanying jazz warm-ups - aimed at conductors who are keen to add non-classical repertoire to their concert programmes and perform those “lighter” styles idiomatically.
Tools for Tip-Top Singing with Children’s Choirs

Want to know to develop truly exciting but disciplined singing through healthy vocal technique, connection to the text, and performance skills? Val Whitlock, vocal consultant and children’s choral expert will lead this session for choral directors and leaders looking to take their children’s choirs to the next level. The session will include a practical demonstration with a children’s choir.
Renaissance Music: is it ‘different'?

Renaissance music covers a range of styles - polyphonic, chordal and with a different flavour from country to country. Robert Hollingworth, director of innovative specialist Renaissance vocal ensemble I Fagiolini, gets to grips with the fundamentals of tackling this repertoire and asks whether a singer and conductor's approach should be any different from any other type of choral music.
