Bristol Choral Society has announced its 2014-15 season, including a special Come & Sing day under the inspirational baton of conductor Adrian Partington to celebrate 125 years of Bristol Choral Society: Come & Sing Favourite Choruses: Bristol Choral Society 125th anniversary celebration Saturday 18 October 2014, 11am (arrive from 10am) Colston Hall, Bristol Hosted by Bristol Choral Society with conductor Adrian Partington Performance at 3.30pm The season celebrating 125 years of Bristol Choral Society is launched with this gala Come & Sing encompassing some of the favourite choruses sung by the choir over the years. All are welcome to Come & Sing with us and Adrian Partington to celebrate, with music including... I was glad, choruses from Brahms' German Requiem, Bach's B Minor Mass, Haydn's The Creation, Mendelssohn's St Paul (the first work performed by Bristol Choral Society), Elgar's The Apostles and the Hallelujah chorus from Handel's Messiah ...all contained in a special souvenir music book for you to take home and treasure! The day will culminate in an informal public performance in the South West's premier concert hall - Bristol's 2,000-seat Colston Hall (home to our concerts since 1889, but like us, has had a bit of a spruce-up since then!) - accompanied by the mighty 5,372 pipe Colston Hall Harrison & Harrison organ. All welcome! The Come & Sing workshop starts at 11am (arrive from 10am). Performance 3.30pm (Audience tickets are also available for non-singers). To be followed by a reception with some birthday cake and a glass of something sparkling....
