An opportunity for all singers to join in as chorus for Handel’s greatest oratorio : MESSIAH.
There are few musical works in the history of mankind that is as iconic as the Hallelujah Chorus from George Frideric Handel’s Messiah. Since debuting to widespread acclaim in Dublin in 1742, Handel’s Messiah remains one of the most popular compositions of all time; in fact, it is so popular that sing-along Messiah events are in great demand all over the world
Singers are invited to join the choirs of St Botolph’s (The Stump) Boston and Boston Choral Society. The work will be directed by Marc Murray and Brian Quinn.
Saturday 27 September is the date for this special Come & Sing performance of Handel's Messiah, which is being organised in the great charity tradition. You are warmly invited to join us on your own or with friends and choir members for this great choral work. If you prefer not to sing, just come and listen to the evening performance, which begins at 7.30pm. For those wishing to sing, there is a rehearsal at 2pm.
Singers are asked to register in advance so we know how many to expect; Booking forms and tickets are available from The Stump Shop or Boston Choral Website : http://bostonchoral.com We anticipate that this event will be well attended due to its popularity and a great deal of interest from local societies and singing groups. Although tickets may be available on the door, we do recommend purchasing them in advance.
Singers Tickets are priced at £10 are available to pre-order or They will also be available from St Botolph's Shop and Boston Choral members. Audience Tickets are £5.00. Please visit their websites for details. The chorus will have around 3 hours rehearsal on the day.
