Sarteano Chamber Choral Conducting Workshop (Summer 2005) Can't Post

I am pleased to invite you to apply to the Sarteano Chamber Choral Conducting Workshop taking place in Italy (Tuscany) from 5-12 August 2005.Up to two graduate credits are available through The Boston Conservatory. This intensive conducting workshop is geared for music educators and choral conductors with strong vocal ability who are interested in rehearsing and performing chamber choral music. There will be a limited amount of openings for qualified singers who are interested in attending the workshop in either a conducting or a non-conducting capacity; and who are very specifically looking to learn rehearsal and conducting techniques. You will be part of a twenty-four to twenty-eight member ensemble that will prepare and perform a cappella choral music from the sixteenth to the twentieth century. The two-part morning session will consist of vocal pedagogy using the Rohmert method of Functional Voicetraining, and clinics on developing a vital chamber choir. The afternoon session consists solely of a conducting master class with Simon Carrington and Brian O'Connell. Working within a master class this size will be both an exciting and personal experience.Bronislawa Falinska, our visiting artist in vocal pedagogy, will join us daily to conduct sessions using the Rohmert method of Functional Voicetraining. This approach guides the singer towards an awareness of the voice not usually addressed by most conventional singing methods. Get ready for a sensorial exploration of the voice, and to explore how self-perception works in the combination of "hearing-feeling-seeing." The total cost of the workshop is 525.00 USD. This price includes a CD of the final concert, and a fabulous Farewell Gala Dinner. Sarteano is a magical Tuscan hill town where the Medieval Festival is the rule, and not the exception. So, apply now as the hotels fill up quickly! Please visit our website for a detailed description of the workshop at Simon, Broni and I are looking forward to working with you in Sarteano.
