Join Tim Knight to sing music that lies at the heart of our English Heritage in the wonderful setting of Whalley Abbey Retreat near Clitheroe in Lancashire. The Retreat is set in the stunning grounds and ruins of a 14th Century Cistercian Abbey on the banks of the River Calder in the beautiful countryside of the Ribble Valley and Forest of Bowland and is within easy access to motorway and rail networks.
Tim Knight has been running singing events, workshops and tours for over 15 years and has built up a reputation for providing singers with a rewarding, educational and memorable experience singing fine music in fine venues throughout the UK, America and Europe (visit: www.timknightmusic.com for more information and reviews). He is a keen ambassador for choral music and tradition and believes that Tudor music lies at the heart of our English Heritage. This journey with Tim through some the hidden repertoire of Advent and Christmas Music will include pieces by Tallis, Gibbons, Byrd, Child and Tomkins, with Tallis’ ‘Missa Puer natus est nobis’ being our featured piece (subject to all voice parts being available).
Cost: £179.00 per person in either ensuite single, twin or double room
Friday - Dinner and introduction to the weekend
Saturday - Breakfast, lunch and dinner with morning, afternoon
and evening singing sessions
Sunday - Breakfast and lunch with morning singing session
(in the beautiful local Whalley Parish Church)
Costs include meals stated in the itinerary above. A deposit of £50.00 is required at the time of booking, with full payment required no later than 1st October 2018. Music packs and a full itinerary will be sent out in September/October.
