Voices Yorkshire needs Yorkshire Choirs!
Yorkshire choirs, we'd really love you to be a part of this exciting new project for the Yorkshire region.
Once upon a time, Leeds was the place to be for Choral Music and the Leeds Triennial Choral Festival was one of the world’s most prestigious of its kind. After over 30 years, it is time for Yorkshire to take to the choral world stage once again and the Yorkshire College of Music & Drama is relaunching the festival under the new brand name, Voices Yorkshire.
Voices Yorkshire will be a biennial choral festival that celebrates the diversity and excellence of choral music and choirs throughout Yorkshire, reflecting modern day society and our diverse Yorkshire communities, both in the choirs and performances it promotes and the audiences it attracts. The festival will culminate in a number of grand finale performances at Leeds Town Hall on 14th September 2019 (please note, the main performances will be by invitation only and you do not have to be available for this event to participate in this project).
Voices Yorkshire will organise, host and promote a number of events at a variety of venues across Yorkshire throughout 2019 which we hope you will want to get involved in - there is no fee involved and no obligation to take part, but these events are designed to showcase the diversity and quality of Yorkshire choirs, as well as present the perfect opportunity for your group to reach new audiences and recruit if necessary….. Please request a flyer for the first ‘Sing Day’ which will be held at some great venues across Leeds on 26th January 2019.
It’s free to sign up to the Voices Yorkshire project and you have the opportunity to perform and promote your choir to new audiences and interact with other choirs under the Voices Yorkshire banner – there really is no catch and no fee - we just ask that you adorn your posters and promotional materials with the Voices Yorkshire logo and help to spread the word! To get involved and find out more information – please visit http://www.voicesyorkshire.co.uk or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest and request a welcome pack (please supply a postal address), which is ready to wing its way to you!
We look forward to welcoming you to this new and exciting project for our region which has huge potential to grow into a nationally (or even internationally) recognised cultural festival and please do spread the word!
