Singing and Clapping (at the same time!) Can't Post

Can anyone recommend some excercises to help a choir do this?

Could be something really simple, but I'd also like tips on singing one rhythm while clapping another.

thanks

WinkOur choir director has some wicked exercises for us to do.

1st Sing The grand Old duke of York. 2nd time leave out word up and clap instead.

3rd time Leave out Up and down. clap for up and Stamp for down. 4th time no words at all ,clap and stamp in right places.

Another one difficult for us over 40's but youth choir no problem! To be done at same time, piano keeps steady rhythm going

4/4 Arms straight out front, above head, out to side, down by side

3/4 leg point to front, out to side, back to centre.

Arms above head, to right side, to left side, At same time go through alphabet 2nd time around leave out every other letter but don't leave a gap ie ACEGIKM etc then try leaving out 2 letters.

Have fun
