Musical Director Required by Stone Choral Society (Staffordshire) Can't Post

Stone Choral Society (a Staffordshire choir) is looking for a lively and creative Musical Director. We are a friendly choir of around 70 voices, usually performing 3 concerts a year and a carol concert, at least one of which has orchestral accompaniment. We perform a varied repertoire; in recent concerts we have sung the Durufle Requiem, Haydn Stabat Mater, and Rutter’s collection ‘Feel the Spirit’. Future concerts include Elgar’s The Music Makers and Vaughan Williams A Sea Symphony, which we are doing in collaboration with other local choirs, and a lighter Summer concert of American Music.

We are looking for a leader who will inspire the choir to achieve high standards. Someone who will work with the committee to define an interesting and challenging programme of concerts, and will enjoy making music with us. For more information about the choir, please visit our website www.stonechoral.org.uk.

To apply, please send a CV to Pauline Kelly, 16 Ridge Croft, Stone, ST15 8PN, email it to enquiries@stonechoral.org.uk, or phone Martin Jones on 01630 620220 for an informal chat.

The closing date for applications is 23rd February 2007. Auditions will be held on the 15th and 22nd March, and we are looking for the new Musical Director to take over from the 3rd May. The choir rehearses on Thursday nights from 8-10pm. Keyboard proficiency preferred.
