gerontius newsletter - February 2013

Dear choral music lover,

Firstly, we hope that 2013 has started well for you all and that your success continues throughout the year. In this newsletter we'll be hearing about the great North Wales Choral Festival, featuring concerts and competitions in the popular Victorian Seaside resort of Llandudno. We'll also hear about RelaxSing Tuscany 2013, an all inclusive holiday for choral lovers in the beautiful region of Tuscany.

As 2013 is Verdi's bicentenary, Henley Choral Society will be giving you the opportunity to join in with their Verdi Requiem Workshop and Performances. We're also including the latest news from Rayburn Tours, the specialists in Concert Tours. They offer superb, tailor-made performances abroad and within the UK. These are for bands, orchestras, choirs, and all types of school and other young ensembles.

Do feel free to forward it on to friends and others in your choir, or just send them the link to the newsletter online:

We're always happy to include news from choirs in the newsletter, so do let us know if your choir is doing something special this year.

Register for your spot at the North Wales Choral Festival now...

We know how quickly your calendars fill up so application forms for 2013 are now available! The North Wales Choral Festival is on 8-10 November so book now so you can start planning that all important repertoire.

On Friday 8 November, North Wales School Choirs will kick off the competition. Male, ladies and youth voice sections will be competing on Saturday 9 November and mixed voice and barbershop style will battle it out on Sunday 10 November*.

Thanks to our generous sponsors the total prize fund remains at £4000! We place first, second and third choirs; winners receive £500, then £200 for the runners up and £100 for third place for each category.

The success of last year's community concerts and the fact that everyone who took part in our 25th anniversary concert enjoyed it tremendously means we are including these elements once again for 2013.

The concert headlined by Revelation Singers in 2012 was also very popular and so plans are underway to book another concert for Friday evening too. Further details will be announced soon so keep checking in on our website.

Don't miss out on this jam packed, musical weekend in the lovely Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno in North Wales.

Why Budapest?

It's no exaggeration to say that Budapest is one of the most picturesque capital cities in Europe. The majestic River Danube, that winds its way through the historic city centre, beautifully separates the contrasting city parts of Buda built into the western hills and Pest built on the water's edge. For an evening to remember, take a dinner cruise on the Danube to experience the city lit up at night and take part in the traditional dancing and singing on board. There are plenty of performances opportunities right in the heart of the city, but for the true Hungarian experience we suggest a concert in one of the smaller towns outside Budapest.

Visit our website for further details or to make an enquiry.

Regardless of your choir's size or style of repertoire, we aim to provide enthusiastic audiences, exciting excursions, unforgettable performance venues and top class customer service - we provide the opportunities and the choice is yours!
